Privacy Policy

Reashore ("we", "us", "our") is a mobile application that helps you record, transcribe, and revisit church messages throughout the week. Reashore is operated by Dawnfield Technologies Ltd., a corporation incorporated in Alberta, Canada, which is responsible for your personal data. You can contact us at support@reashore.app.

Our Privacy Officer, Imo Ndukwe, is accountable for how we handle personal data and can be reached at the same address.

We collect the following categories of personal data:

• Account information — your first name, last name, and email address when you create an account. If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name and email address from that provider rather than you entering them, and store them against your account. You can edit your name at any time in the app.
• Date of birth — collected once when you create an account (or on first sign-in if you register with Google or Apple) solely to confirm you meet our minimum age requirement of 13. We store the result of that check against your account; we do not use your date of birth for any other purpose.
• Audio recordings — recordings you make within the app of church services or messages. These are uploaded to our servers for transcription.
• Transcription data — the text generated from your audio recordings, along with AI-generated sermon summaries, key points, and scripture references.
• Sermon details and notes— information you add or edit, such as sermon titles, pastor and church names, series, bookmarks, and questions you ask about a sermon using the in-app "Ask" feature.
• Bible verse preferences — your preferred Bible translation (e.g. KJV, WEB, ASV, LSV), stored locally on your device.
• Push notification preferences and device token— whether you have opted in to receive mid-week reminders, your chosen days and time, your device's time zone, and an anonymous push token issued by your device that lets us deliver those notifications.
• Usage data — basic app interaction data such as sessions created, features used, and app performance metrics, used to improve the product.
• Diagnostic data — crash reports, error logs, and technical details such as device model, operating system version, and app version, used to find and fix problems. Error logs are stored in our own database as well as with Sentry (see below).
• Approximate location— we do not access your device's location. However, our analytics and error-tracking providers (PostHog and Sentry) may derive an approximate location, such as city and country, from the IP address of your connection. We use this only to diagnose service issues affecting a particular region and to contact affected users about them.
• Waitlist information — if you sign up on our website before the app launches, we collect your name and email address.

We use your data to:

• Provide, operate, and improve the Reashore app and website.
• Transcribe your audio recordings into readable sermon notes.
• Answer questions you ask about a sermon using the "Ask" feature.
• Generate AI-powered summaries, key points, and scripture references from your recordings.
• Send personalised mid-week push notifications to help you revisit the message.
• Respond to your questions or support requests.
• Detect, diagnose, and fix technical problems, including issues affecting users in a particular region.
• Send you service messages about your account or the app, such as security notices or updates about an outage affecting you. We will only send you promotional emails if you have opted in, and every promotional email will include a way to unsubscribe.
• Notify waitlist members when the app is available (website sign-ups only).

We share your data with the following trusted third parties, solely to deliver the features of Reashore:

• Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — if you choose to sign in this way, the provider confirms your identity to us and sends us your name and email address. We do not send them your sermons, recordings, or any other app activity, and we do not receive your date of birth or any other profile information from them. • Supabase — our database and authentication provider. Your account details, sermon notes, and transcription data are stored securely in Supabase. Supabase is SOC 2 Type 2 certified. See their privacy policy at supabase.com/privacy.
• AssemblyAI — after you finish a recording, your audio is sent to AssemblyAI for transcription. AssemblyAI processes the audio on our behalf and retains data in accordance with its own policies; it does not use your recordings for any other purpose on our behalf. • Anthropic (Claude AI)— sermon transcripts are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI to generate summaries, key points, weekly reflections, and scripture references, and to answer questions you ask about a sermon using the "Ask" feature. See anthropic.com/privacy.
• API.Bible — scripture references identified in your recording are fetched from API.Bible to display full verse text in your preferred translation. See api.bible/terms-and-conditions.
• Bible.org (Verse of the Day)— the app requests a daily verse from Bible.org's public service. This request contains no account information or sermon content, but like any web request it reveals your device's IP address to Bible.org. See bible.org/article/privacy-policy-and-terms-use.
• Expo (push notification delivery)— if you opt in to reminders, we send your notification to Expo's push service, which relays it to Apple's Push Notification Service (APNs) on iOS or Google's Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) on Android. This means Expo, Apple and Google process the notification in transit, including its text — which for reflection reminders is a short excerpt drawn from your sermon notes — together with your device's push token. Reashore does not send your recordings, transcripts or account details through this channel. See expo.dev/privacy.
• PostHog — we use PostHog for product analytics, to understand which features are used and where the app can be improved. Events are recorded against your account ID only; we do not send your name, email address, recordings, transcripts or sermon content to PostHog. PostHog may derive an approximate location (city and country) from your IP address. Our PostHog instance is hosted in the European Union. See posthog.com/privacy.
• Sentry — we use Sentry for error tracking and app stability monitoring. Sentry collects crash reports and device information. We also record session replays, which capture on-screen interactions to help us diagnose problems: these cover roughly one in ten ordinary sessions, and any session in which the app encounters an error. Replays are configured to mask text and input fields before they leave your device. Error reports are linked to your account ID, but we do not send your name or email address to Sentry. Sentry may derive an approximate location (city and country) from the IP address an error report is sent from. See sentry.io/privacy.
• Upstash — we use Upstash Redis to enforce rate limits on our backend services. Upstash processes request metadata (such as your user identifier and request count) solely to prevent abuse. No sermon content or personal data is stored in Upstash. See upstash.com/trust/privacy.pdf.

We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever.

Your data is stored in Supabase-managed databases with encryption at rest and in transit. Audio recordings are uploaded to private storage and are kept for as long as the recording exists in your library — not only during processing — so that you can replay them at any time and so we can recover your sermon if the copy on your device is lost. You can delete an individual recording, or your whole account, at any time from within the app. We apply industry-standard security measures to protect your information against unauthorised access, alteration, or loss.

Where your data is processed. Reashore is operated from Canada, but our service providers process data in other countries, including the United States (Supabase, AssemblyAI, Anthropic, Sentry, Expo) and the European Union (PostHog). When your data is processed outside your country, it may be accessible to the courts and authorities of that country under its laws. We use providers that protect personal data with safeguards comparable to those described in this policy.

We retain your account data and sermon notes for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your personal data and recordings will be permanently deleted within 30 days. Waitlist email addresses are retained until the app launches or until you ask us to remove you.

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct any inaccurate information.
• Delete your account and all associated data.
• Object to or restrict how we process your data.
• Receive a copy of the data you have given us in a portable format, and ask us to transfer it to another service where technically feasible.
• Withdraw consent at any time (e.g. opting out of push notifications in your device settings or in-app settings).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@reashore.app and we will respond within 30 days.

Reashore is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such data, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. For significant changes, we will notify you via email or through the app. Continued use of Reashore after changes are posted means you accept the updated policy.
